She has dedicated the past 30 years learning about and implementing employee assistance and other psychological services to our culturally diverse communities. Her career began as a Psychology intern at the Friends Hospital in Pennsylvania, USA. As her career grew she held various portfolios such as, Senior Staff Psychologist and Clinical Director. She is the founder and Executive Director of Elder Associates Limited; the company, which she founded in 1993. Her company was accredited in 2013 by the Council on Accreditation (COA) as one of the outstanding providers of EAP Services in Trinidad and Tobago. She is the Regional Director for the Caribbean of the Institute for Forensic Psychology. She has published numerous academic papers; given a host of keynote addresses and is involved with various social and charitable groups Today she is considered as a leader and visionary in the delivery of comprehensive EAP and other mental health services in the Caribbean region. Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor has mastered several very distinctive careers. Her career began in the media industry, where she moved from a newspaper reporter to a broadcast journalist and then to create history as the Caribbean’s first female television sportscaster. She is also the only broadcaster to host the country’s top three network television morning shows. Today she is the Executive Director of the Caribbean Anti-Violence Institute (CAVI) and the Renaissance Juvenile Justice Assessment Centre (RJJAC). She has emerged as a powerful voice as she advocates for a best practice criminal justice policy, in particular for child protection, justice for children, gender-responsive interventions for girls, and a trauma-informed criminal justice system. She holds a triple bachelor’s degree, special honors and magna cum laude, in politics, philosophy and media studies with a minor in creative writing. She also holds a Master’s of Science in Education and Rehabilitation Counseling, a Master’s of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Arts Certificate in Terrorism Studies. She was honored at City Hall in New York City with a Proclamation from the City of New York for her outstanding contribution to New York’s Caribbean community and by various other international and local organizations. Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor is a well-known personality throughout the Caribbean. She has hosted numerous travel shows on The Travel Chanel, Caribbean Passport and other television productions promoting the islands and all that they have to offer. After having a life changing event at age 24 she spent her down-time reevaluating her goals. With her new lease on life she decided to pursue her dreams of promoting the Caribbean and removing the perception of the region being second-rate. Today she is the Founder and Executive Chair of the Caribbean's top magazine publishing house Toute Bagai Publishing, producing a number of internationally awarded periodicals such as MACO Caribbean Living, MACO Destinations, MACO Sourcebook and MACO Caribbean Homes. She has been awarded for her contribution to promoting the Caribbean receiving the Marcella Martinez award in 2014 in New York City. Our special guest and Caribbean mentor has a winning personality which she has used to build a successful career in film and media. Appearing on television since the age of six (6), she successfully made the transition from children’s television to adult contemporary television, creating, hosting, producing and directing a series of successful television productions including a daily morning prime time television show on national television in Trinidad and Tobago and the popular E-Zone entertainment TV Magazine show which has been syndicated throughout the Caribbean and in the US on BET J. In 2007 and 2008, she was the Artistic Director and Producer (for both stage and television) of the highly acclaimed Annual COTT Music Awards, including the COTT Foundation Awards Dinner. In 2009, she was also the Producer-Trinidad for the UNICEF-MTV HIV/AIDS awareness film Tribes shot in Trinidad. She followed this up in 2010, as the Associate Director for the Best of Caribbean Tales Film Festival, Symposium and Film Market in Barbados. She is the holder of a Bachelors (Hons.) from the University of the West Indies and an MBA (Distinction) from Warwick University, UK. She is the founder of Imagine Media International Limited, a multi-media production, event management & PR entity, based in Trinidad and Tobago. Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor has been practicing medicine since the early 80’s. He was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Medical College in 1971. After graduating in 1975, he completed his internship at Queens Hospital Center in New York, followed by a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the esteemed Columbia University’s in New York. He also demonstrated his all-round capabilities and skills by hosting morning programs on several of the leading television channels and has lead various NGOs.
