Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor has embraced his mission to encourage and empower young people to face the challenges of the modern world. And he does this mainly through sport; particularly football or soccer as it is also called. He has six degrees which includes four Masters and is currently working on his Doctorate. He has over 40 years’ experience in Sport Administration and Coaching. He has received Awards of Recognition from T&T, Canada, and the U.S. for his many contributions to sports, culture, and youth development. Under his direction many student-athletes have gone on to play at the highest levels around the world and have also become role-models off the field in their roles as husbands, fathers, and community members. Among his many coaching assignments, he has been in charge of Youth and Senior National Teams of which his last was as Technical Director/Head Men’s Soccer Coach at the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation. He is a proud husband of 35 years, a devout father of four and grandfather of five. He firmly believes in spending time with the elderly for counsel whom he calls, “the fountain of wisdom”. Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor has a wealth of experience in higher education administration, an in-depth knowledge of curriculum development and a passion for facilitating student success. She holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration and a Master’s degree in Education from Teachers College Columbia University, New York; an M.A. in French from the University of South Carolina; and a B.Sc. in French and Spanish from Georgetown University, Washington D. C. Today she serves in the position of President of the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT)

Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor is a high achiever. She has held several senior leadership positions throughout her career such as President & Country Head of RBTT Bank Limited and Inspector of Financial Institutions at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. She also served as the first female President of the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago and the Bankers’ Association of Trinidad and Tobago, and she also chaired the Caribbean Group of Banking Supervisors. She has served the country as a director on several State Boards and as a representative on other National committees and was inducted into the Hall of Excellence at St. Joseph’s Convent P.O.S, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in business. In 2014 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws (LLD) Currently she is the Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary to the Board at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce – a position she took up in January 2010. She has used that interest to build an exceptional career by dedicating her time to expanding the medical care options to women on the island of Barbados and within the Caribbean. Today she is the co-founder and Medical Director of the Barbados Fertility Centre.

Our special guest and Caribbean Mentor has been practicing medicine since the early 80’s. He was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Medical College in 1971. After graduating in 1975, he completed his internship at Queens Hospital Center in New York, followed by a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the esteemed Columbia University’s in New York. He also demonstrated his all-round capabilities and skills by hosting morning programs on several of the leading television channels and has lead various NGOs.
